A new local resource, Perth County JOBS on Facebook is intended for both those searching for jobs, and businesses hoping to hire new employees.  Select "Discussions" for by area listings eg. North Perth, South Perth, etc.

Helping people in Perth and Huron Counties to find jobs is the focus of the Partners in Employment Agency, with offices in Stratford, Listowel and St. Marys. The Agency also provides help to employers. One-on-one job counseling is available for all job seekers, including mature adults, students, people with disabilities and those new to the community.

If you would like to be self-employed and begin your own business, the Stratford Perth Centre for Business would be a definite starting point for you. As “one-stop resource”, the Centre offers valuable information, consulting and training (eg. HST training and the Start to Success program) for those intending to start or expand their business. The Centre can also provide some funding. Check the Centre’s web site for a local business directory and community data/profile.

What are the essential skills and work habits required and used in virtually all jobs? How can they be acquired? Use OSP     (Ontario Skills Passport) to find out. Various skills assessment tools are offered on this web site, as well as samples of resumes and cover letters for job hunting

All aspects of the job search process are covered on this comprehensive database: resumes, cover letters, interview strategies and how-to’s for starting a new job. You can try the Career Matchmaker Quiz and access other assessment tools, occupational profiles, online job boards, company job sites and information about post-secondary education in Canada. Career Cruising can be used within the Perth East Public Library or from your home, and a library card is required. Career Cruising
