How to get a Library Card
To obtain a card free of charge you have to be a resident/tax payer of the Township of Perth East. The card also allows residents to use library services free of charge at Stratford Public Library, West Perth Library and St. Mary's Library .
There is a reciprocal borrowing agreement with Waterloo County Libraries and Oxford County Libraries as well. This means that if you have a Perth East Library card you could obtain a library card from either Waterloo County or Oxford County free of charge even though you are not a resident of either area. Residents of Waterloo or Oxford County may obtain a Perth East Library card with their home county library card.
Library cards are valid for one year from date of issue and must be renewed annually. Please notify the Library immediately if the library card is lost; until notification, you are responsible for materials checked out on the card. Library cards are not transferable; this means the registered borrower is the only person entitled to use the card.
To get a library card, you need to complete a Library Card application available at the library or by downloading it from the the link below. Please bring the completed application and a piece of identification showing your current address to the library to receive your library card.
When you get a library card, you are agreeing to:
Care for all materials you borrow
Pay outstanding fines or fees
Pay for lost or damaged materials
Tell us if your card is lost or stolen
Tell us if your name, address, or phone number changes
Confirm your address and phone number annually when your library card is renewed
Use only your card to borrow materials
